A Case of Neurilemmoma Arising from Nasal Septum

Abstract
Neurilemmoma is a benign, well-encapsulated tumor which arises from cranial and peripheral nerves or nerve roots. In the peripheral nerves, the sensory branches are affected far more frequently than the motor branches. These tumors most often
occur
in
the head and neck, principally involving the acoustic nerve. But there have been few cases reporting about the tumor developed in the nasal cavity.
Recently, authors experienced a case of neurilemmoma which was confined to the nasal cavity and nasopharynx. The stalk of the tumor arised from inferior mid-portion of the nasal septum and the nasopalatine nerve was likely to be its origin. The
tumor
was excised Via intranasal approach using nasal endoscope. (Korean J Otolaryngol 38:1, 1995)
